East Shore Community Charrette

On Thursday, October 17th, the Hunter East Shore Studio in conjunction with Zone A New York and SImagines held a community mapping charrette at St. Charles school for East Shore residents in Staten Island.  The event was a success and the studio team was able to gather invaluable information first hand from residents about the East Shore study area that will be critical in the studio's resiliency plan.

Staten Island East Shore Community Planning Charrette

In conjunction with Zone A New York and SImagines, the Hunter East Shore Studio will be hosting a community planning charrette this evening at St. Charles School. Registration and welcome materials will begin at 6 pm and the presentation and following community mapping sessions will start promptly at 6:45. All East Shore residents are encouraged to take part in this exercise and lend their knowledge of their neighborhood.  Refreshments will be served.

Welcome to the Hunter College East Shore Studio

The Hunter East Shore Studio seeks to integrate and compare policies, current data, and community involvement in the East Shore study area of Staten Island with a central focus on hazard mitigation. Our ultimate goal is to design a plan for a more resilient, adaptive, and prepared community in the context of future storms.
